Twitter Tool Tuesday – Tweetlevel

Tweetlevel is a tool that scores Twitter users out of 100 according to how many people listen to them, how many people follow them, how actively they participate and whether people believe in them.

The tool uses an algorithm that takes into account both quality and quantity of tweets, and enables users to view the importance of anyone within the twittersphere, simply by entering their Twitter handle and clicking a button. The tool also allows users to analyse hashtags and search topics. Additionally, Tweetlevel provides insight into who influences a tweeter, who the tweeter influences, who retweets the tweeter and who tweets about similar topics. It also generates tag clouds.

My favourite aspect of Tweetlevel is the feedback it provides for each of your scoring areas. This feedback gives the reasons for your score and lets you know how you can improve, which is handy.

Overall, Tweetlevel is an incredibly useful tool for marketing and PR professionals as it enables them to identify problems make corrections and gauge success.

Twitter Tool Tuesday – Refollow

Refollow is a brilliant twitter management tool that lets you follow  and unfollow other twitter users en masse. It’s highly intuitive filtering system lets you display who you’re following, who you’re not following, who is/isn’t following you and much more. You can also filter by search terms and certain time periods. The former is a great way to view @mentions.

Additionally, the tool lets you save filters, create lists, add tags to other users, tweet and comment on other users.

Refollow is a great way to manage your relationships on Twitter as it streamlines the entire process of following and unfollowing other users.

Twitter Tool Tuesday – Twtpoll

Twtpoll offers twitter users the ability to gather feedback from their followers in the form of polls and surveys. A Twtpoll poll consists of one question to your followers which can be voted on, while a survey has multiple questions.

Twtpoll has been used by some of the world’s most recogniseable brands including Starbucks, Blackberry, CNN and many more.

One place Twtpoll does come unstuck is in the pricing department. Prices start at $49 (one-off payment) with no free version or free trial, which is likely to put a lot of people off. What’s more is for your $49 you only get the ability to create single questions polls – no surveys.

Overall Twtpoll is a useful tool, and does have some interesting features. The price, however, is quite likely to put you off.

Twitter Tool Tuesday – BirdHerd

Birdherd markets itself as “Twitter made easy for groups & teams”. The idea is that there doesn’t have to be a single login for multiple people to post from the same Twitter account. After setting up a group of people for the Twitter account, posting from it is “as easy as sending a direct message to the group twitter account”.

Without the need for sharing a single accounts username and password, Birdherd makes it possible to authorise (and un-authorise) multiple users. One great trick it has up it’s sleeve is that with Birdherd you can use any tool you like – Hootsuite, CoTweet, TweetDeck – to update the account, making it even easier for multiple users with different tastes in tools.
