Yahoo and Microsoft have merged their PPC – you can save £800

So it’s finally happened!

After several years of waiting we can now report that for almost all our clients there’s no longer any traffic being reported by the Yahoo PPC management platform – it’s all coming in via Microsoft Adcenter. This is great news because it means that to advertise on both Bing and Yahoo (plus a few others) you now only need to run one PPC account. That makes advertising on Yahoo and Bing much more accessible to smaller businesses.

It also means that the traffic is going to be coming in faster, meaning accounts can be optimised faster. Optimisation is the process of making the account drive you the right traffic at the right price – so the quicker that can be done the better.

What you need to do:

If you’ve already got a Yahoo account you need to go through the migration process asap to make sure your ads will still appear on Yahoo.

If you’ve already got a Microsoft Adcenter account – you need to review it to make sure you’re making the most of the new traffic coming through.

Or if you’ve got neither – now’s the time to test out the new combined platform.

Special Offer for May Only:

May is a great time to talk to us about Yahoo/Bing as in honour of the merger finally happening we’re offering free account set up (or migration) to anyone who signs up for 3 months.*

So if in May 2012 you sign up to us managing your Microsoft Adcenter PPC activity for just 3 months, we’ll do all the set up work for you for free (worth at least £800). How to Create a Simple, Effective Online Marketing Plan – ECMOD Presentation

Last week I spoke at the ECMOD conference in London’s Business Design Centre.

My session was a practical run through of how to create a simple, effective online marketing plan. So we ran through:

  • what an online marketing plan is
  • how to audit your current activity
  • how to work out what your “gap” is – the gap between what you think will happen with natural growth vs your objectives
  • how to fill that gap (the really important bit!)
  • and how to measure performance and change your strategy as you need to

You can find the full presentation here, including my little bonus of my top online marekting tactics you should be considering in 2012.

If you’d like to know more or have a chat about your online marketing plans please get in contact.

New! Facebook Page Apps Directory now live!

As our Twitter Tool Directory has been so successful (over 65,000 views so far) we thought we should create one for Facebook Apps too.

There are several sites out there where you can search for Facebook Apps, but there’s not really any which give you a guide to the Apps classified by need. Plus, in July Facebook killed their own Facebook App Directory – leaving many marketers having difficulty finding the apps they need. So we hope our Facebook Page App Directory will help!

As with our Twitter Tool Directory we’ll be reviewing a different Facebook Apps each Friday – so keep your eyes peeled. And if there’s one you’d like to see us review – just let us know.

[news] Site review for Action Storage

As part of our ongoing relationship, we have recently completed a website review for Action Storage. Action Storage, who have worked with Indium Web Management for over a year, were founded in 1986 and specialize in the manufacture, supply and installation of a wide range of shelving, lockers and racking.

The site review involved Indium Web Management’s consultants going over the Action Storage website with a fine tooth comb, analyzing the customer’s journey from entry to the site right through to any purchase or feedback. We then made a number of suggestions as to how the websites processes could be improved in order to decrease customer drop off and raise conversion rates.

e-Marketing Manager Rachel Smith, who managed the review, says:
“When you work very closely with your own website it’s very easy to miss the small things that can act as a barrier to goal completion. From the customer journey review, we identified some really quick wins to help the customer through the order process as well as providing Action Storage with details on other bigger projects to improve their customers’ journey through the Action Storage website.”

We look forward to working with Action Storage more in the future.

[news] SEO and Social Media partnership with 2degrees

We are very pleased to announce that we have recently entered into an SEO & Social Media partnership with 2degrees. 2degrees – whose main base is in Oxford while they also have offices in New York – is the world leading online community of sustainability professionals from over 90 countries.

Here at Indium Web Management, we have been tasked with putting into place improved SEO and Social Media strategies for the company, including increased activity on the social networks LinkedIn & Twitter.

The SEO project we are carrying out for 2degrees involves a complete overhaul of their marketing website’s current approach to SEO, from keyword selection to meta tag writing and link building activity.

Our Social Media partnership will include increasing 2degrees’ exposure on both Twitter and LinkedIn, while also holding training days for 2degrees staff on how to get the most out of the social networks.

As well as SEO and Social Media, we are also going to be carrying out PPC for 2degrees on Google as well as the LinkedIn Advertising platform. The aim of this activity will be to drive more traffic to the website, leading to increased membership sign up rates.

We are looking forward to developing our relationship with 2degrees.
