Facebook Friday App Review – Fotobabble

Fotobabble allows users to add audio to a still image or slideshow to create a “talking” photo. This talking photo can then be embedded in a blog/website/email or shared via Facebook/Twitter.

The app is completely free to use and it takes only a few seconds to create a talking photo. You simply upload a photo and record your voice via your devices’ microphone. No additional software is required. Everything you need is part of the app.

For individuals, Fotobabble is a great way to share special moments with friends and family. For marketers/businesses/organizations it can be used as a way to engage with fans/followers. Baby photographers Our365 once ran a “Tickle Me Baby” contest encouraging parents to upload photos of their babies along with audio of their laughter.

Fotobabble can also be used for product reviews and explaining pictures of complex information such as diagrams and graphs.

All-in-all Fotobabble is incredibly versatile and easy to use. Leveraged correctly it has masses of potential both as a tool for fun and a tool for fan/follower engagement.

Facebook Friday App Review – Selective Tweets

What is it?
Selective Tweets lets you choose the tweets you would like to appear on your Facebook wall.

How does it work?
You can specify the tweets you would like to be posted by appending them with the hastag: #fb.

Getting Started
To connect your Facebook and Twitter account using Selective Tweets simply login to your Facebook account, go to http://www.facebook.com/selectivetwitter, click the “Go to App” button, enter your Twitter username in the appropriate field on the screen that follows and click “Save”. When you’ve done this, allow the application access to your basic information and you’re set.

If you’re using another application to post tweets to your Facebook wall remember to disable it so it doesn’t keep updating with ALL your tweets.

Closing comments
Overall Selective Tweets is a great time saving solution if you are looking to get the same messages across both Twitter and Facebook. The ability to select specific tweets for posting to Facebook is a real benefit as it ensures Facebook fans/friends only see messages that are relevent to them as opposed to a stream of tweets in post form, which is what happens when you simply “connect” a Facebook and Twitter account.

Facebook Friday App Review – Sendible

Sendible enables users to connect with their social media audience and monitor/analyse their social media presence. It supports a whole host of social media sites with users able to post to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and more.

The tool also has SMS messaging and email newsletter integration. For the latter, you can import contacts from most of the major email services including Gmail, Yahoo and MSN or you can upload a csv file. You can also blind copy contacts for mass mailings and send/schedule messages across multiple networks. Additionally, when scheduling messages you can make them recurring to serve as reminders. Sendible’s SMS facility allows users to send messages up to 160 characters in length. If someone replies to an SMS you receive it as an email.

Whether sending messages or carrying out analysis, Sendible’s user interface is very easy to navigate, with everything seemingly where it should be.

The only real draw back I can find with the tool is that some of its most beneficial features are not free, for example SMS messaging and the newsletter sign up widget for blogs that gathers data for your Sendible list. You also have to pay if wish to eliminate ads from your messages.

For marketing professionals Sendible is an ideal solution for streamlining the processes of engaging social media audiences. It also enables them to monitor their social media presence and react to any recurring trends/themes.

You can try Sendible on a free, no risk 30 day trial here.

Yahoo and Microsoft have merged their PPC – you can save £800

So it’s finally happened!

After several years of waiting we can now report that for almost all our clients there’s no longer any traffic being reported by the Yahoo PPC management platform – it’s all coming in via Microsoft Adcenter. This is great news because it means that to advertise on both Bing and Yahoo (plus a few others) you now only need to run one PPC account. That makes advertising on Yahoo and Bing much more accessible to smaller businesses.

It also means that the traffic is going to be coming in faster, meaning accounts can be optimised faster. Optimisation is the process of making the account drive you the right traffic at the right price – so the quicker that can be done the better.

What you need to do:

If you’ve already got a Yahoo account you need to go through the migration process asap to make sure your ads will still appear on Yahoo.

If you’ve already got a Microsoft Adcenter account – you need to review it to make sure you’re making the most of the new traffic coming through.

Or if you’ve got neither – now’s the time to test out the new combined platform.

Special Offer for May Only:
